If you use askKynos while caring for clients' pets, you can use it for your own pets too. Add their stories, ask health and care questions with their context already there, and switch between Sitter and Parent mode in the same account.

And it works the other direction: pet parents who know animals well can choose to become sitters and earn additional income caring for the kinds of pets they're comfortable with.

Built for real-world trust

We didn't take shortcuts with the trust pieces.

Payments run through Stripe. Sitter background checks run through Checkr. We built and tested those systems before asking anyone to trust askKynos with a pet, a payment or a booking.

Can I keep my own clients?
Yes. Your clients are yours. Bring them onto askKynos and you keep the relationship — we don't insert ourselves between you and the people who already trust you. That's the premise the whole platform is built on.
Do I have to leave the platforms I'm already on?
No. askKynos is non-exclusive by design — not as a trial period, but permanently. Keep every platform that's working for you and add askKynos alongside them. There is no penalty of any kind for working elsewhere.
What does askKynos cost sitters?
No subscription. There's a one-time $35 Sitter Onboarding fee to get set up, and after that a 15% sitter service fee applies to completed bookings — so you keep 85%. Clear numbers, disclosed up front, with no ranking penalties or hidden deductions.
How fast can I start taking bookings?
If you're already rated 4.8★ or higher on another platform, Fast-Track lets you share your existing profile and go live the same day as a Verified Experienced Sitter, with your background check running in parallel. Everyone else goes live once the standard Checkr background check completes.
What happens to the reviews I've earned elsewhere?
Fast-Track exists precisely so years of five-star work don't vanish when you join somewhere new. We verify the rating you've already built and recognize it on your profile from day one, rather than making you start at zero.
How does matching work for sitters?
Smart Match pairs you with pets that fit your actual strengths — the medication cases, the seniors, the reactive dogs, whatever you're genuinely good at. Instead of competing on proximity against everyone nearby, you're surfaced to the owners whose pets you're best equipped to care for.
Can I set my own rates?
Yes. You set your nightly and per-service pricing, and you see exactly what you keep before accepting any booking.
When do I get paid?
Payouts release 48 hours after a stay completes, through Stripe, directly to your bank account.
What is a Founding Sitter?
The first 1,000 sitters who take the Founder Pledge carry a permanent Founder badge on their profile. It never expires and it can't be earned later. The Pledge is a commitment to four standards: provide exceptional care, support our community, give honest feedback, and uphold trust and safety.
Does the Founder badge get me more bookings?
No, and that's deliberate. The badge carries zero weight in Smart Match. Visibility on askKynos isn't for sale — not to sitters, not to anyone. If badges bought placement, no badge here would be worth having. What the Founder badge means is that you were among the first and you committed to a standard.
Do I need a background check?
Yes. Every sitter completes a Checkr background check. Fast-Track sitters can begin taking bookings as a Verified Experienced Sitter while it processes; the badge upgrades to Background Checked automatically once it clears.
What services can I offer?
Boarding is available now, with daycare, house sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walking coming soon. You choose which services you provide and set separate rates for each.
What happens if an owner cancels?
You choose your own cancellation policy — Flexible, Moderate, or Strict — and it's shown to every owner before they book. Payout on an owner cancellation follows the tier you set.
What tools do I get for running my business?
Bookings, scheduling, messaging, and payments in one place. The Pet Graph gives you each pet's full record — medications, conditions, fears, routines — before the stay starts, so you're not guessing on day one. The Vet Assistant answers health questions mid-stay using that pet's own history. And PetCoins accrue as you work.
Can I be a sitter and a pet parent on the same account?
Yes. One account, both roles, switchable in the app. PetCoins you earn sitting can fund care for your own pet.
Who built askKynos?
Artemis Petconnect, Inc. — a four-person, family-founded company. Two of the four founders are active pet sitters. We built askKynos because we'd spent years on the other platforms, on both sides of the handoff, and kept running into the same problem: no real way to pass along what actually matters about an animal.
