Artemis Petconnect is the company. askKynos is the product. The names were chosen separately — then we discovered they had belonged together for thousands of years.
Why Artemis
The company name starts with animals.
We chose Artemis as part of our company name because, in Greek mythology, Artemis was Potnia Theron — Mistress of Animals, She of the Wild.
Her hounds were part of that story. Ancient tradition repeatedly places the dog at Artemis's side, bound to her by instinct, trust and companionship. That was the right foundation for a company built around protecting the animal at the center of pet care.
Why Kynos
Then came the dog.
Kynos — κύνος, pronounced KY-nos — is ancient Greek for “of the dog” or “canine.”
It is also connected to cynosure: literally “dog's tail,” an ancient name associated with the North Star that came to mean something people look to for guidance. That is the role Kynos plays inside askKynos — a guide who starts with your pet and helps keep their story with them.
The discovery
We didn't engineer the connection. We discovered it.
Our company is named for Artemis. Our product is named for Kynos. Goddess and hound had already belonged to the same story for three thousand years. We found both halves waiting for us.
Because this was always about them.
